Life
Wow, yea, I find myself in Bahgdad, Iraq these days :) I'm managing the Vehicle Maintenance shops here and trying to keep a very abused fleet of vehicles up & running. It's been an eye opening experience thus far--when your watching coffins with American flags draped over them loaded into aircraft you find out real quick what your priorities are. What I'm doing is honest, real, and I'm proud to be at the point of the spear!
College
I not only went to college, but I graduated Wilmington College (Del) in the top 5% of my class. Not bad considering I graduated HS with an accumulated .2222 or something of the sort. I'm now working on a grad degree in Psychology. Additionally, I picked up a Community College of the Air Force degree (AS) in Vehicle Management.
Workplace
Most of my work experience is tied up with the military. It's really been good for me and given me a wide spectrum of experience. I did play around in the Automotive industry for a bit but realized early on that it wasn't my passion. The trouble with the highschool years is that there is pressure to move towards a career path, and sometimes that pressure moves you in a direction that is inconsistant with what you really want. That happened in my case.
Military

c Military Training. I was one of those cats who got yelled at A LOT! Again, I made some great friends and moved on to Chanute AFB, Ill for Technical training school where I learned the art and craft of automotive technology. Three months later I showed up at RAF Mildenhall, UK with no stripes and a duffle bag which consisted of everything in the world that I owned at that time. There I would spend two years, meet my wife, and become a veteran of the first gulf war. Moving back to the states after two years in Europe, I ended up at Barksdale AFB, La where my wife gave birth to our first child, Kalyn. During this time I spent 3 months in the UAE before seperating the AF for 5 years. Completing my military obligation, my family and I moved on to Arkansas (known unaffectionately as the Arkansas Experiment). We bought a small house in the Ozarks (and I mean way in the Ozarks) and struggled to make ends meet like any young family. Eventually, we had enough of that nonsense, and I rejoined the AF. The only bright spot that we take from this time is the birth of our son, Kyle. From Arkansas we moved on to Dover, AFB, DE where we fell in love with the area and felt REALLY at home for the first time. I've done several tours in the middle east, and one long year in the Republic of Korea, but always end up back at Dover. We own a house there, and are very comfortable with our community. I'm now serving a 6 month tour in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
